SUDAN.. or ORISSA..
I am presently in Sudan (Africa) and have been here for a couple of months now, and the aspect that strikes me most is the uncanny resemblance it has with Orissa (India), be it the physical, regional, physiological or psychological arena.
Physically, both, the people as well the terrain are identical, and ergo their resemblance in character and personality. Neither have the desire or drive to work but want the comforts that the heavens have to offer, both thrive on mob mentality and absolutely lack individualism, the women work while the men just 'hang around 'n' discuss politics'.
Nature has favoured them and blessed them with resources galore , but the people are the counter balance. Outsiders thrive in both these areas. The common enemy in both these places are christians, and no stone is left unturned to ensure violence and hatred attain its zenith in the shortest possible time.
The issue that concerns me most is that the future of both rests on the shoulder of masses that lack direction, goals, sensibilities and drive and the effect their ignorance has on the regional geopolitical stability is incredible.
